WELCOME TO THE BILLS 2008 

FOOTBALL & CHEERLEADING SEASON!

Football season is quickly approaching and your new Bills Football and Cheerleading board members and coaches have been very busy planning for the 2008 season. We are very excited about the events we have planned and hope you will get involved and have fun along with your players. Bills Football is a 100% volunteer organization. Anyone interested in helping should call any Board Member, new help is always welcome.

Bills Football is a member of the Tri County Youth Football League (www.tcyfl.net) and we will travel to other suburbs to play at least four of our games. The coaches will provide schedules and maps at the practices as soon as they are available and they will also be on our website.

Football registration is again at an all time high. Cooperation and support from the parents and players is extremely important so that we can assure having a quality program. It is imperative that football players and cheerleaders attend practice. It is also important that parents keep abreast of all communication that will be handed out weekly by your team mom during the season.

Each football player and cheerleader will be supplied with football/cheer equipment. The following is a list of additional items to be purchased by each player:
   *  rib guards (can be purchased through Bills Youth Football for $30.00 at equipment hand out)
   *  girdles (can be purchased through Bills Youth Football for $15.00 at equipment hand out)
   *  athletic supporter & protective cup
   *  molded cleats
   *  extra mouth guards (can be purchased through Bills Youth Football for $1.00 at equipment hand out)
   *  Hanes cheerleading shoe -info will be provided at uniform fittings.

We have enclosed an order form for football & cheerleading jackets. This is not a required item. Please note, this will be the only time jackets can be ordered. The completed order form, along with payment, must be received no later than July 23rd to assure timely delivery. Other spirit-wear will be available for purchase during the season.

MAY 28TH         CHEERLEADING UNIFORM FITTING - At Emmerich East Park. It is very important for your cheerleader to attend one of the fittings! We want to make sure everyone has a uniform that fits!

JULY 7TH THRU JULY 12TH        FOOTBALL EQUIPMENT HANDOUT - PARENTS MUST BE PRESENT! Please remember to bring a credit card for the equipment deposit and check/cash for raffle tickets. (NO UNIFORM CAN BE ISSUED WITHOUT THEM!) The schedule is as follows: BY GRADE IN FALL 2008 AND FIRST LETTER OF LAST NAME. Families with multiple children may come together.

"FUND-RAISER" HANDOUT - Raffle tickets will be handed out at the same time as the equipment. Payment of $100.00 is due at this time for 120 tickets. Tickets can be sold in a book of 6 for $5.00, or each one for $1.00 (You can make $20.00). Equipment will not be issued without check/cash for raffle tickets!

JULY 14th         HEAD COACHES MEETING - 9:00 p.m. at Bills Football Building

JULY 17th THRU JULY 21st         BILLS MINI CAMP - 5:30 - 7:30 PM AT EMMERICH EAST PARK. Join us for a few days of skill development and conditioning.  This is optional and NOT mandatory. Wear T-shirts, shorts and football cleats. Bring water! Weekdays only!

JULY 24th         JACKET ORDERS DUE - Order forms and payment must be received by July 24th (No exceptions!) Mail order form and payment to: Bills Football, P.O. Box 6265, BG 60089 or bring to equipment handout.

JULY 24th         FOOTBALL PRACTICE BEGINS -MONDAY THRU FRIDAY, 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM AT EMMERICH EAST FIELD, UNTIL THE WEEK SCHOOL BEGINS. Players should show up promptly at 5:30 PM in t-shirts, shorts, cleats & helmets only on Thursday July 24th. BRING PLENTY OF WATER OR GATORADE. Teams may change practice fields during the week.

JULY 24th         NEW FOOTBALL PLAYER'S PARENT MEETING - 7:45 PM AT EMMERICH EAST- ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY IF YOU ARE NEW TO THE PROGRAM. (IMMEDIATELY AFTER PRACTICE). Attendance is highly recommended for returning parents.

AUG 1st         FULL FOOTBALL PADS MAY BE WORN TO PRACTICE

AUG 3rd         DICKS SPORTING GOODS, BILLS FOOTBALL NIGHT- 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Dicks Sporting Goods will open for Bills families ONLY!   21830 W. Long Grove Rd., Deer Park, IL Save 20 % on cleats and underarmour.

AUG 8th         CHEERLEADING PRACTICE (ALL SQUADS) - 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM AT EMMERICH EAST FIELD. All cheerleaders should show up promptly at 5:30 PM in proper attire for an all squad practice. BRING PLENTY OF WATER! 

AUG 8th         CHEERLEADING PARENT MEETING - 5:30 PM ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY! AT EMMERICH EAST PARK .

AUG 8th         CHEERLEADER UNIFORM HANDOUT - PARENTS MUST BE PRESENT! 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM.

WEEKENDS OF AUG 16th & 23rd        PRESEASON GAMES - For all of the Bills Football teams. All teams have preseason games -  check with your coaches.

AUG 26th         Head coaches meeting at 6:00 PM, Concorde Banquets in Lake Zurich.

AUG 30th & 31st         OPENING DAY - League games begin.

SEPT/OCT         HOMECOMING "Here Comes the Boom" - Date to be determined as soon as schedules are made available. (Raffle Winners Picked)
                           PARENTS - THIS WEEK PLEASE BE TO YOUR CHILD'S GAME 20 MINUTES EARLY FOR A SPECIAL PREGAME PARENT APPRECIATION PRESENTATION (FROM YOUR CHILD).

OCT                  SENIOR DAY

OCT/NOV         EQUIPMENT TURN IN - 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM AT EMMERICH EAST FIELDHOUSE for teams not continuing in playoffs (please be on time and return equipment in condition you would like to receive it)

WEEKEND NOV 15th, 16th             CHAMPIONSHIP WEEKEND


If your player will not be able to report to football practice on July 24th or your cheerleader on August 8TH , please contact us immediately with their name, age and first day of practice date so that we can inform their respective coach @ (847) 215-4976.
